Welcome to Southam

Southam is an English civil parish within the district of Tewkesbury and the county of Gloucestershire

Southam is a village in Gloucestershire, England, located on the outskirts of Cheltenham. Its main features are a Manor House, which has now been converted to a hotel, a 12th Century Church and the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, which runs through the outskirts of the village, the AONB of the Cleeve Escarpment. Southam is a great place to live with a thriving community centre around the village hall which runs a Pub Night, film nights and hosts a number of activities. A number of footpaths run from the village into surrounding countryside. From 1865 the village was known as Southam-de-la-bere, to distinguish it from Southam in Warwickshire. Richard de la Bere was the Lord of the Manor of Southam from 1609 and his Manor house was near the present Pigeon House in Southam Lane.
